For over twenty years now I have been making my own toys models and action figures and consider myself to be fairly professional at what was once a hobby.
Being a big Sci-Fi fan my toys are based firmly in this genre more particularly
Dr Who Blake's 7 and Star Trek, but my most recently works are from the new series Battlestar Galactica.
I have a collection of over 200 Dr Who figures in several different scales.
A 2 inch range made from modified Mask figures which compliment the Product Enterprises Rolymatic Daleks.
A 4 inch range made from many different figure types, Hasbro Star Wars / Gi Joe Action Force / Mego Black Hole and Buck Rogers.
Next range is the Mego size which is 7 1/2 inches.
Then a 9 inch scale, made from Trek Playmates dolls, to compliment
the 1970's Dennis Fysher figures.
Finally a 12 inch range.
Too many different scales I know!
My other figure collections are made in only two different scales.
A Star Trek range of figures in 4 inch made from both the Mego Motion Picture figures and the Galoob Next Gen' figures.
A Mego range of mostly Classic Trek figures and Classic movie figures, along with a few Classic cross-over characters.
This was actually the range that started my passion of Mego customs.
Last but not least my Blake's 7 range of figures.
The 4 inch range was started 20 years ago along with the Dr Who figures and has only recently been dusted down and added to.
For most of this year I have been working on a large Mego project.
I have sculpted and created a range of 50 figures from Blake's 7.
It's taken a lot longer than I initially thought to create these figures but I'm very happy with the results and the feedback I've received for the 20 or so figures I've shown so far. I've been featured as Custom of the Week at the Mego Talk forum and had some photos published the great new Blake's 7 Fanzine Scorpio Attack.
I sculpt all the heads and weapons.
Hand stitch all the costumes and hand paint the molded heads.
The blank bodies and boots are the only manufactured items which are
imported from the USA.
